Ingham County player claims $100,000-a-year Millionaire For Life prize

An anonymous Ingham County player who bought online matched five white balls in the August 20 drawing and selected $100,000 annual payments for life.

An anonymous 71-year-old Ingham County player has claimed a Millionaire For Life second-tier prize after an online entry matched all five white-ball numbers in the August 20, 2026 drawing.

The Michigan Lottery said the player chose the prize's annual-payment option, which provides $100,000 each year for 20 years or for life, whichever period is longer. The option was selected instead of the available $2.2 million lump-sum payment.

The winning Millionaire For Life entry was purchased through MichiganLottery.com. It matched the five white-ball numbers 01, 16, 26, 40 and 44 drawn on August 20.

The player did not match the Millionaire Ball. Under the game's prize structure, matching all five white balls without the Millionaire Ball earns the $100,000-a-year-for-life second-tier prize.

The player learned of the win while logged in to complete a Daily Spin to Win activity, the Michigan Lottery said. That online session led the Ingham County player to discover that the entry had produced one of the game's top prizes.

After learning of the prize, the player went to Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim it. The claim completed the process for a win tied to an entry purchased online rather than at a retail location.

The annual-payment selection means the player will receive $100,000 per year for at least two decades. If the player's lifetime extends beyond that 20-year minimum, the payments continue for life under the option selected.

The player plans to put part of the winnings toward home renovations and save the remainder. Those plans follow the decision to take the recurring annual payments rather than the single lump-sum amount.

This is the second Millionaire For Life second-tier prize won by a Michigan Lottery player since the game launched on February 22, 2026, according to the Michigan Lottery. The Ingham County win adds another Michigan recipient of the game's prize for matching five white balls without the Millionaire Ball.

Millionaire For Life costs $5 per play and holds drawings daily at 11:15 p.m. Players seeking current draw information can consult the latest Michigan Millionaire For Life results.

The August 20 drawing produced an outcome that turned an online entry into a long-term annual prize. For the Ingham County player, the choice of payment structure sets the prize at $100,000 a year for no fewer than 20 years, with lifetime payments if that period is exceeded.
