Germantown Player Claims Second $50,000 Pick 5 Prize of 2026

A Montgomery County woman has claimed her second $50,000 Pick 5 straight prize of 2026 after a ticket bearing the number 12912 matched in the evening drawing on August 23.

The Maryland Lottery said the winner claimed the $50,000 prize on September 8. The result came from the Pick 5 evening drawing, and the ticket matched 12912 straight.

The winning ticket was purchased at Town Center Sunoco, 19738 Germantown Road in Germantown. The location was also identified by the Maryland Lottery as the seller of a $50,000 Pick 5 ticket for the August 23 drawing in its listing of Maryland Lottery draw-game prizes from August 17 through 23.

The ticket cost $14. It covered both the Pick 5 midday and evening drawings on each day from August 18 through August 25, giving the player entries across that span before the 12912 combination produced the $50,000 straight prize in the August 23 evening drawing.

The win is the player's second $50,000 Pick 5 straight prize in 2026. She had previously won $50,000 playing Pick 5 straight and visited the Maryland Lottery's Winner's Circle in April 2026.

The winner is a retired postal worker who plays Pick 3, Pick 4 and Pick 5 games weekly. Her regular play now includes two $50,000 Pick 5 wins in the same year.

She plans to use part of the latest prize for home renovations and save the remainder. She also plans to give some of the money to her grandson, who helps her purchase lottery games.

The ticket's sale also brings a benefit to the Germantown retailer. Town Center Sunoco will receive a $500 bonus for selling the top-prize Pick 5 ticket.

The August 23 ticket remains listed among the Maryland Lottery's draw-game prizes for the August 17-23 period, providing a separate official listing of the $50,000 sale at the Germantown Sunoco.
