Former Queens ZIP code wins Columbia player $50,000 in Pick 5

A Columbia resident played a former Queens ZIP code on a $1 straight ticket and won a $50,000 Maryland Pick 5 top prize.

A Columbia resident won a $50,000 top prize in Maryland Lottery Pick 5 by playing the ZIP code of a former home in Queens, New York City. The number, 11694, won in the August 30, 2026, evening drawing.

The player put the five digits on a $1 straight ticket. The ticket was purchased on August 30 for that evening’s drawing.

The player’s wife bought the ticket while running errands. She purchased it at Columbia Auto Care and Wash, 10611 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia.

The number had a personal connection for the winner: 11694 was the ZIP code of the player’s former home in Queens. The Columbia resident regularly plays Pick 3, Pick 4 and Pick 5.

After a relative’s birthday celebration, the player checked the tickets on the lottery’s website. The Pick 5 ticket held the $50,000 winning number.

The winner claimed the prize on September 25, 2026, according to the Maryland Lottery. The couple planned to use some of the winnings for new tires and a trip the following year. They said the remaining money would go into savings.

Columbia Auto Care and Wash receives a $500 bonus from the lottery for selling the winning ticket. Current draw information is available on the latest Maryland Pick 5 results page.
