Connecticut Lottery launches online sales for eight games
Connecticut Lottery Online now offers digital ticket purchases for eight games through a revamped website, with account-based play and new prize-handling rules.
Connecticut has entered the online lottery-sales market with the launch of CT Lottery Online, giving players a digital way to buy tickets through a revamped Connecticut Lottery website.
The iLottery platform launched on August 20, according to the Connecticut Lottery Corporation. The move made Connecticut the 11th state to offer online lottery sales.
Players can purchase tickets online for eight Connecticut Lottery games: Powerball, Keno, Mega Millions, Lotto!, Millionaire for Life, Cash 5, Play 4 and Play 3. The website also allows users to check winning numbers for those games. Players following Powerball can find the latest Powerball results online, while the latest Mega Millions results are available on a separate results page.
Digital play is tied to an account and online wallet. Players must create and activate an account before depositing funds into the wallet for purchases.
The new system also changes how prizes are handled. Prizes of up to $599 are automatically deposited into online player accounts.
Prizes from $600 through $5,000 are not automatically deposited. Instead, online players receive an email notification about those prizes.
Larger prizes require an in-person claim. Any prize of $5,001 or more must be claimed at Connecticut Lottery headquarters at 15 Sterling Drive in Wallingford.
The Connecticut Lottery's official website provides access to online lottery play and information about claiming prizes. Its online service is designed to let players play lottery games and check tickets for winning numbers and prizes.
