Concord player wins $519,318 Rockin' Bingo Fast Play jackpot
A Concord player turned a $5 Rockin' Bingo Fast Play purchase into a $519,318 progressive-jackpot prize.
A $5 Rockin' Bingo Fast Play ticket purchased in Concord delivered a $519,318 progressive-jackpot prize to a local player, the NC Education Lottery announced.
The ticket was bought on Friday, September 4, at The Mills BP on Holden Avenue Southwest in Concord. The player made the purchase while leaving work, according to the NC Education Lottery.
The winning ticket was part of the Rockin' Bingo Fast Play game. At the time of the purchase, the game's progressive jackpot stood at $1.03 million.
The NC Education Lottery said the $5 ticket qualified for one-half of that progressive total. That share resulted in the $519,318 prize.
The player learned the ticket had won after a store clerk scanned it at the Concord retailer. The ticket was then claimed at lottery headquarters on Wednesday, September 9.
After required state and federal withholding, the player received $373,962, the NC Education Lottery said.
The player plans to use the proceeds to pay bills, reduce a mortgage and arrange a visit with her children.
Fast Play jackpot odds are listed by the NC Education Lottery as 1 in 320,000. Readers looking for current drawing information can visit the latest North Carolina lottery results.
The win came in Cabarrus County, where the NC Education Lottery reported that $16 million in state funding supported educational programs during the prior year.
