Baltimore Army Veteran Claims $50,000 on Maryland LUXE Scratch-Off

An Army veteran from Baltimore claimed a $50,000 third-tier prize on Maryland’s $5,000,000 LUXE scratch-off after buying tickets at Maryland Liquors on Liberty Road.

The Maryland Lottery said the prize was claimed September 8, 2026, at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. The claim involved the $5,000,000 LUXE game, a $50 scratch-off ticket listed by the Maryland Lottery as game number 789.

The winning tickets were purchased at Maryland Liquors, located at 6024 Liberty Road in Baltimore. That retailer was the point of purchase for the tickets that produced the $50,000 award.

After buying the tickets, the player checked them in his car. He then returned to Maryland Liquors, where the store verified the winning ticket before the prize was claimed.

The $50,000 prize was classified as a third-tier award in the game. It was not the game’s top prize, but it was one of the $50,000 awards available through the LUXE scratch-off.

The player has been playing Maryland Lottery games since the 1970s. That long history with the lottery preceded his purchase of the tickets that led to the Baltimore claim.

The $5,000,000 LUXE scratch-off costs $50 per ticket. The game offers 50 chances to win, giving players multiple opportunities to uncover a prize on each ticket.

The game carries a $5 million top prize. It began sales on February 6, 2026, making the Baltimore claim part of the early availability period for game number 789.

The winner plans to use the prize money for immediate financial obligations. His plans include paying off his car and getting ahead on bills.

The Maryland Lottery’s game listing showed that larger prizes were still available after the claim. As of September 12, 2026, two of the game’s three $5 million top prizes remained unclaimed.

The same listing showed seven of the game’s 10 $200,000 prizes remained unclaimed as of September 12. It also listed eight of the 12 $50,000 prizes as still unclaimed on that date.

Those prize counts were recorded four days after the Baltimore player claimed the third-tier award. They describe the remaining prize inventory at that time and may change as additional tickets are claimed.
