A series of scratch-off games arrives in stores on Monday, Jan. 13, on the heels of the first $50,000 second-tier win in the $30 MONOPOLY X200 scratch-off, which launched in November 2024. A Rockville man claimed the $50,000 prize this week in the game. The player visited Hilltop Wine & Spirits, buying the MONOPOLY X200 instant ticket and then scratched off all of the play area. He noticed he had a match with the winning number 11. The maintenance worker revealed the prize underneath the 11 in the play area and found a second-tier prize of $50,000. He was all smiles. “I was happy that I finally won. I have been playing for a long time,” said the loyal player. The Montgomery County resident plans to use his prize to purchase a house. “I was in the process of saving for a house, but this helps with the down payment,” he explained. His lucky retailer, Bowie’s Hilltop Wine & Spirits, is located at 6856 Race Track Road in Prince George’s County. The MONOPOLY X200 scratch-off went on sale on Nov. 27 as part of a Maryland Lottery family of MONOPOLY games. All four top prizes of $2 million remain unclaimed. There are still five $50,000 second-tier prizes remaining, along with others ranging from $30 to $10,000. “I want to come back after I win the big one,” said the happy winner.”
