(WJRT) - A woman from the Fenton area reinvested her $5 Michigan Lottery instant game prize into another ticket, which won her a $500,000 jackpot.The lucky 67-year-old purchased her winning tickets at the VG's Quick Stop gas station at 18001 Silver Parkway. She usually plays Michigan Lottery instant games once a week, buying whatever ticket catches her eye.The lucky winner purchased her first Cash Flurries instant game ticket and won $5, which is the price of the ticket. So she went back inside and used her winnings to purchase a second one."When I scratched that ticket, I saw the big win right away, but I had the clerk scan it to be sure," the 67-year-old said. "When a message came back to file a claim, I knew I had really won."The woman's husband and children didn't believe she won the jackpot until she called the Michigan Lottery to verify her big prize. She plans to help her kids, pay off debt and save the rest of her winnings for retirement."I feel very blessed to have won," she said.Michigan Lottery players have won prizes worth $4 million from the Cash Flurries instant game since December. More than $10 million worth of prizes remain, including another $500,000 jackpot.
