$100,000 Ohio Lottery scratch-off ticket sold at Akron gas station

The purchaser of a lottery ticket at the 293 E. Market St. Speedway in Akron has won $100,000, according to the Ohio Lottery."I was kind of just in shock," said the winner, according to an Ohio Lottery news release, which did not name the winner."I bought two of them and lost and was like, 'oh, I might as well buy two more,'" said the player, who won the top prize for the Linked Wins $5 scratch-off after making the follow-up purchase.The winner plans to "catch up on some things" with the winnings and possibly plan a trip, according to the release.Mandatory state and federal taxes totaling 28% will bring the player's take-home winnings to $72,000, the release said.Since the Ohio Lottery began in 1974, it has provided more than $33 billion to education.
