Christmas comes early for Alexandria man after he turned $20 into $1 million on Kentucky Lottery scratch-off Christmas came early for a Northern Kentucky man, who won $1 million from a scratch off game, according to the Kentucky Lottery.The man, who is remaining anonymous, claimed his prize on Dec. 23. He won playing the $1,000,000 Casino Nights Scratch-off ticket.According to the Lottery, the man purchased the $20 ticket the night before at Alexandria Carryout after he won on another Scratch-off."I bought four different tickets," he said.The winner told lottery officials that he went to a vending machine to scan it, which revealed winnings of $700,000. The lottery says he scanned it three more times, just to be sure."I thought, well, how many zeros does it have?" he recalled, saying he called the store clerk over to take a look.The man, who is from Alexandria, said he called his mom and daughter, who both did not believe him at first."My daughter had a million questions," he told the lottery.The man chose the lump sum cash payment of $700,000, and left lottery headquarters with a check for $504,000 after taxes.Besides giving money to his kids and buying a condo for his mom, the winner told the lottery that he has no plans for himself with the money yet.For selling the winning ticket, Alexandria Carryout will receive $7,000.
