1 winner of $1.22B Mega Millions jackpot for drawing on 12/27/24

There had been 30 drawings since the last time anyone had won the jackpot, leading to Friday night’s huge grand prize.The winner now has the option of taking the prize as an annuity or taking the cash option, which is worth an estimated $549.7 million. The winning numbers are: 3-7-37-49-55Mega Ball: 6Megaplier: 3Along with the jackpot winner, five tickets sold won $1 million in the drawing. Those tickets were sold in Arizona, California (2x), Missouri and Texas. None of the those players also played the Megaplier option, which would have increased their winnings to $3 million. In Michigan, two tickets sold won $30,000 in the drawing. That was the largest prize won in the state. “Congratulations to our $1.22 billion jackpot winner from California,” said Joshua Johnston, lead director for the Mega Millions Consortium. “What an amazing present this holiday season! Thank you and congratulations to all our winners.”Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Five balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 70; the Mega Ball is drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 25. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302 million.Mega Millions is played in 45 states, plus the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
